so the craft sale was a complete bust, but that just means i have a shit ton of stuff to bring to the rage on thursday, when i'll be doing a drop off of stock, and pick up of cheque from last months successes.

since i'm so finished and sick of sewing for a while, it's back to what i have missed for so long: my sketchbook and scraggle pens.

i'm quickly running out of time before the craft sale on the 6th, and should be spending every waking moment at my machine, but alas, i suck at life.

b-cards and re-tail

last sunday, i placed an order with overnightprints for some business cards that i can use for the regular, pretentious, cocky means of handing out to people, but it doubles as a backing to attach my pins, and make them look somewhat legit.

they arrived at my doorstep today, and delivered by one smoking hot ups guy, no less... but i digress..
they look marvelous, and vicki is pleased.



and so, the dual purpose of b-card/pinback works wonders, and i look somewhat like a mature, reasonable "artist"



as you may know, i have a craft sale coming up on december 6th in missisauga, so horray!

and on top of that, the wonderful people at the rage have been so kind as to take some of my hideous items and sell them in their kensington market shop. i'll be dropping by on thursday to hand over my children, (pins, tote bags, uglyfaced cubes) and hope for the best, so you should perhaps take a gander if you're in the neighbourhood.

well, i signed up for a christmas craft show on Dec.6th at thomas street middle school in missisauga. the sweet-as-pie grade 8 teacher who arranged it found me on etsy and asked if i would be interested in joining, in which i responded HECK YES.
so here's one of the many items i am going to be selling:


i figured since it was a christmas sale, it would be in my best interests to make some christmas items. hence, the plush tree ornaments that i whipped up tonight, amongst other things (holy productive moly)

i will also be making holiday cards, more pins, more plush, more purses, some prints, some original artwork, and more (i hope).
i will post more progress soon.

Hi,

I found your artwork on illustration mundo, and really liked your sketch work. The budget is 50 dollars for the rights to use the work in the iphone project.

The applicatiton is an interactive art gallery on the iphone. Artists submit a single character design that is divided into 3 regions. Users then take artists designs and mash them up to create new creatures. It's a fun casual experience that promotes the artists at the same time.

We have a template and can work with existing designs.

so i never knew it would be this difficult to get back into the swing of things after starting a shitty part time job, but i think i'm getting there. in my dry spell, i looked to my past sketchbooks for inspiration, and i remembered how much i liked pigs. SO:

back home, and ready to rumble

last night, i arrived at my doorstep at 6pm from my 5 week adventure in italy, and was awake for about 26 hours, trying to beat the jetlag, before i decided to call it quits and go to bed.
this morning, i was up at 6am, and now, i'm ready to conquer the world... or just a small uninhabited piece of land would do too i guess...

i would like to start working on some personal work now, some individual pieces, editorial, book covers, and the like. fun stuff, no massive projects, seeing as i had just finished a 16 page comic for chaos.

also, i have about 90 plush pins almost ready to go for fanexpo in a couple of weeks, so that's exciting also. i will take a photo upon their completion and post it soontime.
