bye bye canzine

well, what a weekend.
first of all, the wonderous phil mcandrew came to toronto from the state of new york on friday night and slept on mine and britt's couch all weekend. here he is, enjoying some strong canadian beer.
we ate so much food and made so many horrible jokes and faces, one would not have to make any more jokes and/or faces for the rest of their lives and still be average on the joke/face scale of life. i thought americans were all big fat dummies, but i guess there are exceptions. phil's not fat. or at least he hides it well.
then, holy halloween saturday. i sewed my fingies raw making a few costumes, no biggie..
and then, the whole point of this post, sunday! canzine!
i'm not sure why we look so sad about it, but really, it was awesome.
and monday, the three of us slouched real deep and drew a LOT of horrible, horrible pictures... here's one, c/o philip:

and if you really WANT to see the rest of them, which i highly caution you from doing, you can find them HERE. dont say i didnt warn you...
here's a drawing of me and britt that phil scrawled on that lazy lazy day...

SO, this weekend is going to be another busy one...
this thursday, ale diaz has a show at the NACO cafe gallery called "ubiquitous death", where she painted a shit ton of skulls, and had a bunch of peeps, including myself, screw around with some of them, so ch-check it out!
AND, britt, myself, and a few other pals are in a show with the wonderous friendly rich and the lollipop people for their new cd release, and there will be lots of super duper artwork all over the friggen place, and super duper music in our ears, so you should definitely come check it out this saturday at the tranzac.
AND, me and britt again. mini comics. chapters... brampton? yeah. brampton. this sunday. BE THERE. or not, i wouldnt hold it against you if you didnt. really.
so yeah, it's been busy. and there is more to come. soon. very very soon...

ps- phil = #1. for serious.

and finally, i'm a part of a one night only show with friendly rich and the lollipop people at the tranzac on nov.7th, and i'm just sanding down my new beaut of a surface to work on...
take note of the 18" ruler for scale... awesome find at goodwill for $3. the last supper is on the other side. i cant make this shit up.
AND, in a few days, hold on to your genitals, cus i'll be posting my first ever actual real life freelance gig... hang tight.

fanexpo HO

britt and i are going to be at fanexpo again this year, lucky you.
we've been going nutso putting things together,
busy busy busy busy busy...
so i JUST NOW finished putting these bad boys together:

each package contains 6 signed and numbered prints by yours truely (santa claus), and a little postcard for shits and giggles.

anyhow, we'll have comics (the ones i've been posting), these sweet print packages, some pins, a few purses, and LOVE. i'll have lots of love. so pop by table A96 in artists alley and give me a high five and a purple nurple.

look for THIS SIGN, we'll be sitting under it telling racist jokes and pooping our pants.

sweet jesus

holy update day, for reals pals.
sorry about my absence but i have been so busy with gallery pieces and minicomics and 24 hour comic day and apartment hunting and bike riding and folding and stapling and eating and pooping and LIFE. bad.

first of all - things are coming along for a fantastic gallery show that i have been given the honour of participating in. here's the deets:

second - you should come and pop by the rage this saturday. "why would i want to do something boring like THAT!?" you may ask. well, for one, I'LL be there, so its guaranteed to be wicked ass cool. and second, kym howe will be there. she makes things out of stuff too, and we are going to jive it up at the rage and party down in the sun.

third - these minicomics are lookin swell. i have printed two of them in a run of 5o each, and i am printing 2 more comics tomorrow. here's a sneaky peek at the two that are done:
tasty tidbit: i just finished the covers of the inanimate objects comic. it's a hand carved lino stamp of wonder and india ink. so there.

i mainly printed these out to sell at fanExpo with britt, but i think i will sell them on the internets and perhaps at a couple retail locations if anyone will let me. time will tell.

fourth - speaking of comics, britt and i did a 24 hour comic day in which one start and complete a 24 page comic in it's entirety, including brainstorming, rough layouts, and final execution. we both failed to meet the deadline, but we got some SWEET COMICS out of the deal, so expect to see those in print too in the near future...

and finally, fifth - keep an eye on ickilip for some awful awful things. it's getting really gross...
the most latest c/o phil mcandrew. shame on you, phil...

anyhow, more to come soon.
